LESSON 15
Rite of Realization
This rite is designed to strengthen you with the virtues of the Fourth Ruler. The Fourth Ruler's power, Fortitude, counters the psychic effects of the various misfortunes you can be exposed to while living in the Lower Cosmos, as well as the manipulation of the Fourth Tormentor, which hardens mortal souls into domineering tyrants. The Fourth Ruler's power sustains your soul with patience and perseverance when you face accidents and bad luck, inspires you to act towards a better future, and keeps you from falling into the pitfalls of arrogance and overconfidence. This rite depends on your ability to attract and project that power. Therefore, be sure to be very clear and specific about what you ask for, be sure that your desire is just, and be sure to have a plan of action in motion. The Rite of Realization does not bring you things you desire to obtain without doing anything for them. Its effect is to remove obstacles to that realization that do not depend directly on your thoughts, words, and deeds. At first, you may think of this rite as a good luck prayer, if you will: it will supplement your efforts with a little divine magic. By and by, the real potence of this rite will reveal itself to you.
Preparation
Mark the Star of the Rulers with the symbol for the Fourth Ruler, reciting its motto. Light the Operative Candle and place it on the Star if it is not already like that. Stand facing your Oratory.
Performance
Hold the Operative Candle with both hands, extending your arms towards the Seal. Recite:
In the name of God, whose image Nature could never mimic!
I pray to you to command the Ruler of the Fourth Zone to bless me with its Virtue, which is Fortitude, in order that I may be protected from the Tormentor of Tyranny.
With help and support from the Fourth Ruler, I hope to unburden my soul of the energy of the Fourth Zone, which is the Arrogance of Rulers.
Through the actions of my mortal soul in the Lower Cosmos, may I deserve the following grace: (declare the results you want realized).
I pray that every obstacle and impediment to the realization of my desire be removed, so that I may make use of it towards the divine purpose of self-knowledge and predominance of Good over Evil.
In the name of God, my wish is now free from impediment; no power of fatality or accident, no vindictive or destructive intelligence, no evil thought, word or action will be able to interpose itself in between my actions and that which I righteously desire.
In the name of God, whose image Nature could never mimic!
Replace the Candle on the Star.
Vision
Expanding on what has already been suggested in previous rites, here the presence of the Godhead and the divine light flowing into the Temple through the flame of the Operative Candle will be most important. Use the best imagery you can think of to inspire yourself with a sense of certainty that all impediments to your success will be removed.
